The City of Portland Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer our Summer Kidz Kamp program, co-sponsored by Gregory-Portland ISD. The program is offered to children 5-12 years of age who will be entering Kindergarten through 6th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.  Activities include games, sports, swimming, science and nature activities, field trips, special events, arts and crafts, healthy eating, and a summer jogging club.  The children are grouped by ages and class size is limited.  All instructors are certified in CPR/First Aid.  This program is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.  Transportation can be provided from City sports camps and swim lessons.  Parent must notify staff of enrollment to arrange pick up.  Lunch will be provided by the GPISD Summer Food Program.     

Complete eight-week Kidz Kamp:  $90 a week per child and $60 registration fee.  Registration fee and the first week of tuition is due at time of enrollment.   

There will be a max registration for this summer, once Kidz Kamp is full registration will be closed.   

Child must register for the full summer program, there is not a weekly or daily option.  

Payment plan is set up as follows:  The registration fee of $60.00 and first week of tuition is due at the time of enrollment.  Thereafter a weekly tuition fee of $90.00 will be set up autopay using credit card or electronic check and deductions will post every Friday for the following week of camp.   Any autopayments that are declined must be paid before child can return to the program.

There will not be in person registration.   

Summer Teen Activities 

Teen Club 

Bored at home?  Come hang out and have some fun!  The Teen Club program will be held on Tuesdays thru Fridays beginning June 13, 2023. Participants will have access to ping pong tables, foosball tables, basketball goals, X Box, Playstation consoles and disc golf.  We also have activities such as outdoor games, special events, gaming tournaments, Bubble Ball tournaments and off-site field trips to Northshore 8 Movie Theater as well as swimming at the Portland Aquatics Center.  Come join us for a fun filled summer!

 Teen Bubble Soccer Tournament 

Come out and try the newest game in town! Bubble soccer is a fun new sport catching on all over the world, hilarious to play or watch and its good exercise. Played much like soccer, on the same field, it has one major difference that transforms it completely. Get your team together and sign up TODAY! 

Single-elimination format and five-man teams. 
Matches: two 10-minute halves with 2-minute halftime 
Tiebreaker: (1) 3-minute overtime with sudden death; (2) coin flip

TEEN In The Game Funtrackers Field Trip 

The City of Portland will be hosting a fieldtrip to In The Game Funtrackers in Corpus Christi Texas.  Teens will have be able to play miniature golf, drive go carts and play video games.  A concession is available on site with everything from pizza, fries, ice cream and more!
